I former neighbor gave me this in ~1993, when he got rid of his Apple Green 74 Targa (911), so this may/may not be 914 oriented. Just dug it out of another box-o-crap in the basement. Can't find it on PET, so........

The -009 in that part number vs. the -005 that would be in your car. Hmmm. Maybe the Cap'n will see this and enlighten. Not sure if it's a later version of basically the same pump or completely useless in your 1.7
Could be a useful spare. Or a paperweight.

http://www.allzim.com/acatalog/Remanufactu...14-4_70-74.html Says that it is an interchangeable part with the 005 and is listed as a part for a 914, so it should be a good spare if it works.

According to this website:
http://www.cannell.co.uk/Bosch_Technical/efi_crossref.pdf005 is the supercession which I think is a Djet pump.

Well, I guess I'll work on bech testing it, since it could be useful this spring. Question is, why wouls a first time Porsche owner have this? I'll call him this weekend.
So...now that we THINK this could be a 14 pump, what do I need to do to bench test it?

Basch ESI says 0 580 463 009 is Porsche 914 356 055 01 and was discontinued in 1995 ... replaced by 0 580 463 005.
