Naa, those were actually pretty safe, all things considered.

My mother used to race demolition derby's in the '70ties, just like the one above. My cousins were building the cars for her and she's a pretty damn good driver.

I always loved going to the races when i was a kid. Good memories of noise, dust and bend sheetmetal.

PS: And you get extra points for flipping another car upside down!

lol, I've only been to a couple, and the cars and the people to a slightly lesser degree end up beat up smile.gif and most are big american IRON so a little 914 would be dodging moving brick walls smile.gif

same people who brought us world war two! They should be shot for destroying 914s like that. Don't they have any plymouth furies over there?

No wonder there are few 914's in Europe...

They killed their young.....

I hope the ones that are being sold over there aren't intended show up in these types of races...

Hmmmm... mebbe we should introduce Europe to school busses.... idea.gif

And figure-eight school bus races.....

I think putting a Chalon kit on a 914 is more painful than that.
URY914
914 would work pretty well. The engine is protected and it's air cooled.

If it is, my guess would be the VIN is 914.043.2120 because he used 2120 as his car numbers ...

I could not find any reference to 914.043.2120 (besides a typo on pbase.com for 914.043.2021)

It ain't rubbin, it's racin.

Andy we should do a thread on Moms as drivers. My Mom would do smoky burnouts with her 427 Marquis Convertable, drive the twisties with her Capri (2), multiple Mustangs. She used to take me to F-1 races when I was an infant.

My mom drag raced her 68 bug at the "Fremont Raceway" in the late 70's when it was still there and I don't remember which car at the "San Jose Raceway" back when that was still there (before Reid Hillview Airport was there). IIRC she said she won her brackets! She would always take me to Fremont, Ahhhhh the good Ol' days.

My mom redlined the Alfa every chance she got and slung it around every corner. Dad was upset with me after I explained the redline to her.
