Current WCR Funds (4-22-2010):

PayPal Balance: $1,901.10 USD after withdrawing $902.26 for the t-shirts

edit: James Knowlton actually overpaid by $10
McMark
I'm thinking we should include the T-Shirts. We can get them for $6-7 each and there's plenty of breathing room in the funds.

I feel like asking people to shell out for shirts as well will inspire "what are we paying for" questions. So if we can swing it, I think we should do it.
biosurfer1
Ok..why dont we give it a day or two to make sure enough funds are rolling in, then maybe as an incentive to register early, we say they will be free to those who register by the first date, any later than that and maybe they are $5?$10?
McMark
Yeah, subsidized would be fine. Or as an incentive to register early.
jcd914
I like the incentive plan, reg by x date get the shuirt free, by y date cost $

As long as that got brought up, I have not heard from the Schippers since we decided on the art work. I sent him a followup PM today.

I am fine with the get the free shirt if you register in the first period. We should also sell t-shirts to people who want to buy but cannot come. I have several from events around the country and can't be the only one who is interested. $20 shipped?
McMark
We'll need an single color version of the artwork or maybe a version with only two or three colors.

Right now the artwork has about 7 colors. But even that would still only be $10 per shirt.
ConeDodger
Copy that! I will get out a request for single color and 2-3 color.

updated...we broke into quadruple digits!

Do we have any sort of budget yet? If someone gets me some general prices, we could start to put some costs together based on say, 75 people. Might be good to know what we need to break even.
ConeDodger
Yopu is doing the nametags at her cost which is $8.00 each.
McMark
Consider $10 each for a shirt.
biosurfer1
ok....Jim, I think there was a number thrown around for the BBQ per person but I can't find it...any insight? Then I can get a rough budget going

Now we should start seeing some snowball effects. Ever since we crossed over $1,000, we are now earning a whopping .06% interest from paypal.

I figure if we can put off the event for 340,000 years, all the planners can retire:)

Andy's ballpark quote was $8 per person, if we buget $10 the numbers are easier and we can make sure we are covered.
We originally guessed 50 people, I don't know if higher numbers help him or complicated it.

Jim

Thanks Jim...I'll start working on a spreadsheet so we have an idea of what kind of money we have to work with.
McMark
aktion035.gif You're rockin' it Brett!
biosurfer1
Ok, so it looks like it will cost is $28/person so far...I'll round up to $30 to be safe.

BTW...we need to define who gets shirts, etc since at $28/person, that means the "extra" people members bring, we are only breaking even if they get a shirt/dinner/badge(though I doubt they would get a badge)

I was going to ask this as well... I think only the registered member should get a badge. Some of us already have badges and that is good because most of those who do are actually planning committee members who do not pay blink.gif How about the +1 and +2 just get the dinner and a vote in the peoples choice.
biosurfer1
Thats what I was thinking too Rob...I doubt the extra people will even care about t-shirts too. if they do, they can buy one:)

I will happily pay for my t-shirt, mug, badge, etc.

ConeDodger
As cheap as the T-shirts sound like they will be, I will probably buy a half dozen if I can get them at our cost!
McMark
Yeah, shirts for primary participant only. Extra shirts cost extra.
biosurfer1
FYI, crunching some numbers, if we could get 247.75 more people to sign up for WCR, we'd have enough extra money to buy 914club.com:)

Brett, Behave! I just realized that you must have never gotten to your Tacoma brakes. If you want let's plan some time and you and I can do both the Tacoma and the 4Runner.
biosurfer1
Sounds good to me...I never got a chance to use it on the Tacoma. It worked great on the sand rail and 914 though!

Got the shirt quote back. For a full color back logo and a front chest logo, it's $1000 for 60 shirts. Which is about $17 per shirt.

I can resubmit the quote with a B&W rear back logo and it'll be cheaper.

Personally I would rather pay a few $ more and get colors.

What are people expecting T shirts to cost?
From my experience, in general an event T shirt is usually at least $20.

We talked about including shirts as part of early registration, instead maybe we could just give a discount.

Just my thoughts.

Jim

biosurfer1
Yikes...what happened to $6-7 per shirt??

a $10 difference is going to screw up the budget if we give one to each person registered.

I know we had breathing room in the budget since we are charging $50 but with 12 people not paying (planners and their guests) that really hurts making up the difference.
RoadGlue
Mark and I spoke the other night and he's going to get a new quote for fewer shirts.

I'm also totally willing to pay for my 'stuff' and it means the difference between blowing our budget or not, then everyone here should too. At least for the tags and shirts.

Me, Mark and Jim have tags... Not sure about others as she handles that. Try losing the second side on the screen printing.
biosurfer1
Closing in on the $2k mark.
