well, my opinion anyways.

Having one so close to home gives me goosebumps.

The owner was on the driver's side cleaning the wheels with a toothbrush!

A true super car from an era when super cars were designed with only what you needed. My all time favorite of the Italian cars.

A body like that could make one forgive the engineers for designing an engine and transaxle that shared the same oil.

I think the interior on the early ones had fixed seats; kinda like my '70...but on the driver's side too!

...or the headrests were on the firewall...

What is all the excitement about?

It is not a good donor car for a 914...

Are you sure the seats were fixed?

I know the Maserati Bora had fixed seats and movable pedals.

Now I'm going to drag out my old "Italian Job" movie with Michael Caine.

The movie starts with a camera in Miura driving through the Alps.

Until it goes into a tunnel and hits a bullldozer.

Then they drag the damaged car out of the tunnel and flip it off a cliff....

You can watch it go down the side of the mountain and as it comes apart, and the engine is missing.... blink.gif

Two weeks ago I found a die cast Miura in one of my my boxes of junk. It's about 6 inches long, the hood and trunk pivot, and the doors open. I forgot all about it until the recent find. It's being cleaned up for a repaint.

Wish I still had that 18 inch long plastic Miura model that I bought in 1968. It was a Japanese Miama(?) model and was motorized with pop up working headlights.

There are a few around LA. (Adam Carolla has one as discussed on his podcast regularly). Definitely one of my faves vintage cars as well.

Seeing cars like that on a routine basis is the only thing I like about being in the bay area. I get to see/hear an exotic commuter car almost every other day.

That's funny, I was thinking the same thing. With out even looking at the post I was getting ready to retaliate with a picture of a Miura. happy11.gif
I read a great article about them a while back with photo's of a sweet purple Miura SV.

Couldn't I make rocker intakes like that to duct into an oil cooler instead of running it all the way to the front?
