I am starting a restoration this week. I was only going to media blast the car for paint when I started finding evidence of the bondo master at work. I ended up grinding down the sides of the car. One picture shows EIGHT layers of bondo and primer. Found holes drilled to pull dents but done improperly. The biggest suprise was the corner replacement.

I had a car that had Bondo in it. I had no idea until I went to apply my magnetic number for a track day and it wouldn't stick. It was kind of funny, but really kind of disheartening. Good luck with that.

That's why I strip the cars Down to metal.
Wait till you find the rust under the bondo.
Fix the dent and the rust and use a thin coat of waterproof bondo to finish.
