I was re-keying my Dad's rear trunk lock yesterday and noticed that the little prong was broken off of this piece.
I don't really need the whole lock, just this piece circled in green (pic courtesy of markb):

Its pot metal, you can buy a repro nylon piece or you can file off the stub and tap and put in a small machine screw and cut the head off. It has worked for me as a cheap repair.

I had not thought of tapping it Dan. Good idea. I did'nt know a repro piece was available. That would work too. It sounds like this is a common breakage point.

Nylon ones at PP, but AA or SMC, etc. may have the metal OEM ones as well as the nylon.
