In my (limited) experience, it's rarely worth buying used shocks, especially ones that look as used as those.

My brand new Konis (adjustable) were not that expensive and you know exactly that what you are starting with is new and up to spec.

Andy,
from what I have gathered, these shocks are of great interest to folks doing vintage 914-6GT restorations or clone builds...
These were supposedly the shocks on the factory 914-6GTs biggrin.gif

In which case function is obviously secondary ...

Get in touch with Armando, he's always on the hunt for real GT parts and he usually pays top dollars.

they get them rebuilt by Koni. Then they have a like new shock in function and it is period correct.

Well, like new from 40 years ago. A rebuild does not upgrade them to 2010 technology.

Either way, i'm sure the right buyer would fork out a nice sum for these. I'll stick with my brand new Konis.

I'll let the prospective new owner of these chime in when he is ready... flag.gif

OK, I am sure that must be a good thing blink.gif

It is. It is... biggrin.gif Thanks! smilie_pokal.gif

They will be restored to like-new condition and used with pride.
DanT
Glad we could work it out Eric..
and I am glad they will be staying in the USA and being used on a pristine build. biggrin.gif
Heeltoe914
I have seen sets sell for 1500 bucks yes that is not a typo.
Eric_Shea
Once they're restored... I might be close. We'll see what Koni has to say. I'm kinda flying blind here. blink.gif

I don't think that's true...

I'd like to thank Dan for working with me on these shocks. As promised, restored to new. Thanks again Dan, it means a lot to me:

all I can say is WOW!

Those came out fantastic Eric... biggrin.gif

Glad it worked out for both of us. These will really work nicely on your GT clone drooley.gif

By the way, the rear shocks I got from the trade worked fantastic last Saturday at my '75's first AX...
Won my class and also finished in the top five in PAX(performance AX index)

That was against full race cars, GT3s, GT2s, Turbos etc...and two full blown 914 racecars...
They worked perfectly with the Konis I have up front and the 140# rear springs. flag.gif
Eric_Shea
Good deal all around. Congrats on the driving! smilie_pokal.gif

Springs are done as well. I had them zinc plated. JKH machined up a pair of top mounts for me so they're about ready to bolt on. TrueChoice forgot to put the spring seats in the box so, I'm waiting on those to come back. More pictures when it's all done and on the car.
DanT
should look fantastic on the car!
Andyrew
Eric,

They look fantastic!!

Care to share how much the rebuild from Koni was? My audi has some old koni's that look in about the same shape as yours were...
Eric_Shea
$150.00 per shock plus parts. I was roughly quoted about $50.00 each in parts.

TrueChoice did the restoration and Phil there has yet to send the invoice. I'm guessing around $450.00 shipped for those.

I'll probably have a little over $1,000 into them all-tolled with cash, horse trading, old shocks and the restoration.
carr914
Still a bargain. Armando has a set F/S for about $2K
FourBlades

Those are sick!

And I thought from the title this was a thread about Howard Stern...

Yes they are the right shock for some Factory GTs

Some GT's came with and raced with Bilsteins

We'll see about that... having them priced at $2k and selling them at $2k are two different things. Maybe confused24.gif
