Picking up a 74 914 Sunday that is a rolling shell...except it doesn't have wheels. Will 4 lug bug wheels fit it or is it only the other way (914 fits a Bug but not the other way)
thanks

Yes they will fit. The offset will be slightly off, but they will work to get it home.

They will fit enough to get it on a trailer. Some aftermarket bug wheels will bolt on, but stockers may not work on the front of a 74. 73+ are hub centric and may not fit the ID of a bug wheel?

Hey Brant!

yeah - this may be the Son-In-Laws project racer...we'll see how rusty it is. Trunk lid is supposedly prestine and if it is it will find its way onto the 74LE and the LE's trunk onto this one. Which also tells me if the lid is that nice then the rest of the car shouldn't be that bad...maybe...

tell your dad hi

see you at Pueblo in June

Bill,
if there is ANY THING that you need for either project... please let me know
I may have it, or I'll know someone local that has it.

I might miss pueblo
dad got tapped on the rear quarter panel at HPR
we still have to pull the fender the rest of the way out of the tire and then re-paint

Please let me know if there are any parts your looking for
the local colorado yahoo 914 group are a bunch of great guys with frequent get togethers.

best of luck

So how did you get it so low?

rear bilsteins set on the 2nd or 3rd from the bottom groove...and 180# springs that are shorter than stock...
not a lot of suspension travel but worked well for the smooth tracks and AX venues I frequented.

looks nice. IF this thing is clean enough to be race-bait, I'll be findin/makin 4 lug 6" wide steels for it. I don't know of anything else I'd want to race on unless I can find a set of Rev's or AmLibra's
