my guess is 6.5 might be popular for the narrow body crowd which is shrinking every.

7 inch wide
Yes, it fits

BUT that eagle rim would likely be 20lbs each when wider! dry.gif

I would buy if it was offered in 8 inch width.
Deep lip with the proper offset.

Jim, 6 1/2 will be easy, we've done 7's with the inch on the inside but I don't think an extra inch on the outside would clear or at the least be very very close, according to the room left on my car. Al.

for all that are reading this.

what is the cost to add one inch to the inside?

this would cause no rubbing?

what size tire would best suit this? and keep speedo accurate?

jim
Grelber
I would be very interested in two 7 inch wides as well.

Yes Jim, you would need a spacer. Next week I will be in Taxas for my grandson's graduation. We are going to build a few wheels in different widths and will be able to address the price question better. We, of course want to avoid using a 5 spoke Fuch to make a widened 4 spoke. Al.

Al, wet met briefly at the 914 Limo build beerchug.gif
I am available to test wider wheels on my 914 with rear fender lips rolled to fit 205 Hoosiers. I hope I can help! biggrin.gif
For cruiser + Ax racers like me, 7-8" wide 4-lug Fuchs at less than 16lbs each would be tough to beat. Please weigh the wheels before and after widening.

proper offset 7s will work on the back if they are spaced right and the fenders are ever so slightly pulled....lips rolled of course biggrin.gif
like this....no reason it could not be done with Fuchs...these were 7" steelies.
with this setup, I ran 1/2" spacers in the rear and 3/4" spacers up front...these are mounted with Kumho V710s, 205x50x15. Those are a very wide 205 tire.

Dan,

Where did you get your steelies made? I really like that!

Aaron, I have no idea....I got those from Trekkor several years back, and I have no idea where he got them from...
they were made with 5" back spacing and centers from a late 914 steel wheel.
they worked great on my car and looked pretty decent for track wheels after I cleaned and painted them.
here is a close up of them after I painted them.
yeahmag
Man... I would love a set like that! I'll have to hunt Trekkor down.

Al still here?

What is the cost to widen four lug fuchs to 8 inches for a flared car?
Deep lip, all on the outside of the wheel?

I see both him and Harvey on Facebook more than here lately, but they do pop in...
