What tire sizes are you running with your flares?

What wheels sizes?

What offset and spacer combo are you using?

How much space between the tire and the inside of the flare?

How much space between the tire and the inner fender?

What set of flares did you use?

I will be using AA steel flares with Fuchs standard offset 7x16 fronts and Fuchs 944 turbo offset 8x16 rears . Tires will be 205/50 fronts and 225/45 rears.

I believe I will need about 1" spacers all the way around but will not buy any untill the flares are installed.

I will want about .5" rear tire to flare gap and about 1-1.5" tire to flare gap front.

Stupid leg is swollen up again.

How would you word it, eh? (see, it's the pain meds, I'm speaking Canadian)

flares, tire widths, offset combos

This should be easy, there are only a couple of hundred possible wheel/offset/tire combos out there ...

I was able to find yours in a search...

If I could get another dozen solid answers, with numbers and less rolling eyes and poke.gifs I could probably set up my algorithm for this little project I'm working on. beerchug.gif

I'm pretty sure my questions were pretty straight forward and easy to answer. smile.gif shades.gif

He didn't ask what he SHOULD run, but rather what EVERYONE ELSE was running.

C'mon guys. It's not that hard tongue.gif

Alright, I'll be the first to actually answer his question...

225/45-15 tires
15x8 custom wheels with 4-7/8" backspace
Stock front fenders - slight rub at full lock.
Hand rolled and pulled rear fenders - snug, but clears with no rubbing.

I want to use 911 turbo hubs for the front in an effort to eliminate
spacers, but don't know if that is a good thing. Scrub radius issue?

Late 911 hub-centric rear hubs might increase the rear track over the early lug-centric ones, 1/4" difference?

Ultimate wheel combo for me would be 944T 8x16 fronts, 911 9x16 rear,
or 8's all around, but might take the easy way out and go with all 7's. I
recall someone said the AA flares can't fit 9's without massaging them,
and for the use of 8's up front as well.

What tire sizes are you running with your flares? 205x55x15 & 225x50x15

What wheels sizes? 7x15 & 8x15

What offset and spacer combo are you using? 5 lug Fuchs, 20mm spacer on front, no spacer on rear

How much space between the tire and the inside of the flare? Don't know yet.

How much space between the tire and the inner fender? Don't know yet.

What set of flares did you use? AA steel flares from the world famous group buy biggrin.gif

I borrowed a set of 8s and 9s from a buddy and ran on my car for one autocross. 245s in back and 225s up front. Worked great and looked good too! driving.gif

If I could find a set for a reasonable price this is the way I would go. Of course a reasonable price for me now would have to be insanely cheap as I'm still piecing the motor back together after said autocross...

275/40/17 tires. 11 inch wide rims. Zero offset. 5 1/2 inch back space. 8mm spacers.

At some point I've run all kinds of combos.
Presently.....well, you don't want to go there. biggrin.gif

The front end was interesting. At one point I fit a 10 X 16 wheel with a 10 slick.
The backspace was 5 1/2 inches. It required the dust cover of the front shock to be removed. I do some testing for clearance.......full compression of the suspension and lock to lock on the steering and adjust the bodywork to suit....no rubbing allowed.

The above didn't work out well. The wide wheels gave me around 3 (+?) inches of scrub radius giving an un-curable push....oh well.......but it fit with my hand hammered flares. Now there are 8 inch wheels up there (5 inch backspace) and the push is gone with the scrub radius decreased by 1 inch......who'da thunk it?
There's a lesson here for those wanting to run spacers up front.

The rear is much more straight forward. Again the 10 X 16 wheels with a 5 inch backspace. The straight side 10 slicks have about 3/4 inch clearance to the inner fender....enough if I keep at least 19 psi in the tires.......I got the big black marks on the inners at 18 psi *once*.
