Decided to pull the 914 out of the garage for the first time in 11 years and get her back on the road. Started doing some research and came across this site. After lurking for a while, I finally decided to make myself known and say hello.

So hello to all and more specifically hello to any Aussie 914 owners here.

There seem to be many very helpful people here and I look forward to being an active member.

Thanks for the welcome. Definitely will be using this site to help locate some parts as there aren't many 914's around here. I know your car Howard, I've seen it around near where I work...nice car, really sweet. Also I saw a black six in Drummoyne a while back rego THE914. It looked really nice too..mine on the other hand..well it requires quite a bit of work so I will be visiting here often for inspiration.

Pictures coming soon.

According to the articles which I've read in the book below (great collection of 69- on 914 articles BTW), they did import a few 914s downunder back in the day, including a few "Righty" conversions!

Oooops! - I guess my "Cheers" before should've been a few ongoing big ole Fosters - not a wimpy USA mug! So again - Cheers Mate! beer3.gif

Welcome to a great club, good people here, don't be araid to ask questions, I have asked plenty and always got good advice. I'm thinking Austrailia is a dryer climate than Eastern Canada so is your body in good shape or do you have rust issues?

Thanks for making me feel so welcome..mate I reckon there are way too many rules in Rugby that's why lawyers and private school kids play it wink.gif as for the beer I'm not to fussy about what I drink.

I imported my car from California back in '87, converted it to rhd, five studs and fuchs, turbo front suspension, etc etc whacked a 2.7 six on webers into her (which lasted about a week sad.gif) then a 2.0 which lasted about 10 years (it was supposed to have a rebuild before it went in:)) and currently has 2.4 with E cams and the same webers.

Yeah it's very dry and has all the metal it came out of the factory with except the usual hell hole repairs. Also added factory GT flares and stiffening plates and some tubing here and there.

Want to paint it properly you know..bare metal and Glasurit here are some pictures I took the other day

Don't believe everything you read... Porsche brought out exactly TWO cars early on, one stayed, and the other was sent back to Germany. ALL the others are private imports.

I like your avatar, despite the Gugelot project is not related to the 914.

That was my understanding also regarding official Australian imports.

The Gugelot avatar was something I thought was cool.
