74 914 2.0 (stock) The car has not had any oil in it for a couple months, a brand new stock oil pump has been installed, oil is in it now but am seeking advice on starting it up again.. Do I turn it over for a while first to get the oild run through? If so how long??

Tom Wilson's book says to open the pump and stuff it full of vaseline. Susposed to keep it lubed till it builds pressure.

Loosen the filter until you can see through the gap. Crank the engine over with the point wire removed from the coil until oil comes out through that gap between the filter and the mount. Attach the point wire, tighten the filter properly and let'er rip!

Works just fine.
