Guess this must be for drag racing due to the lack of cooling fins.

It dissipates heat, HOW, exactly?

By running under full load for less than 15 seconds. It probably "idles" (probably stretching the meaning of that word) for a couple of minutes, runs flat-out for 10-15 seconds (a quarter-mile), then is either shut down right away or idles for a half-minute more and then shuts down. Open up the engine bay and let the heat radiate away before your next run...

Like Thesey said, drag motor.

Looks a lot like Pauter stuff. They'll sell you rodds for 800 bucks each if you can pay.

How is that even a type I-IV anymore?

Looks like the stuff Denny McNutt at Autocraft Engines make.
