I have a 74 1.8, and the throttle pedal moves side to side about 2 or so inches. It seems to be screwed to the floor through the rubber of the pedal itself, creating a hinge for the back and fourth, and then the linkage is like a little ball joint that looks like it needs to move freely. I couldn't figure out if I should tighten something, or if something is broken, or missing, or if this is how is should be. Am I missing something? It doesn't seem right...

TIA

The hinge broke inside the rubber pedal. call 914 rubber for a replacement, he's the cheapest.

Also check under your pedal to make sure it hasn't rusted the floor pan/attachments out where it's supposed to screw the acc. pedal base to the floor. dry.gif
