I have a friend running around up there some place. He is in a red BoxsterS. If you see a 16 yr old kid driving a red BoxsterS, tell him you heard he drives like a girl, he will know who sent you.

I took pics of the VIN plates for every 914 I saw (except Will's). Should I just post them here or add them somewhere or PM them to someone?

I'll get my pics up later today. I took a lot. I managed to forget my camera, so they're just cell phone pics, but with my (lack of) photography skills it probably won't make a difference!

Try and get the name of the owner to go along with the VIN#. If you can't find the owner, the Parade registration number should get you that information through the PCA.

Today was Driving tour of Castle Rock state park

only 914 with ~50 cars
qa1142

Thought this was a Rasberry - he did some 1950's Mercedes color chair.gif

Thanks for the great pics. I have only been to one Parade...two years ago in Charlotte. I'm pretty sure the Orange flared six in the pic was just completed prior to Charlotte Parade-a really nice car that had tremendous attention to detail.

This is what it looked like then

It's a great time...have a blast!!

I know for sure, that the car got a high quality ground-up restoration to its factory original specifications
the color is a "match to sample colour"

idea.gif Andy

due to the fact that it's a MY'72 914-6 there is no visible VIN outside the front trunk ...
so you need to open the front lid to check

I met the owner David Hatch back in the 90's and have spoken with him several times on the subject of 914/6's, but we haven't been in touch for at least 10 years.
He has a very interesting background with 914/6's that I will not go into here to protect his privacy. This car must be a fairly recent acquisiition.
I'm surprised members here who live in that area never heard of him? He's been a PCA member for a long time and had been a track rat.
I'd be interested in the VIN, also.

I know that some of you remember 9142430260 being for sale back in 2007 when it was in Austria. It was red at the time but it was originally color to sample metallic green. My notes show that it sold but I never was able to find out where it ended up. The cool thing about 9142430260 other than being the last (highest) 914-6 VIN is that it also left the factory with the M471 option. I have a good feeling that this green car at Parade is 0260 and I'm very happy that it's in Milwaukee Wisconsin.
smg914
Dam, my notes also show that David Hatch owns 9142430259.
Wow, that would be cool to own 0259 and 0260. I think George owns 0258.
Van914
I think the orange 914 is George Sells' car. He and his son restored it from an origional six.
Van914
qa1142
George Sells does own the Orange 914-6

Karen Sells is here with a red 914-6 too

Both are in the database already....

It have been fun here this week so far beerchug.gif

Finally got some pics sorted out. I apparently failed to get the VIN# of "the last one" by the way. headbang.gif

I missed the VIN of this Creamsicle LE. The work was well-done, but the finish textures, glossiness, and colors were not correct to my eyes, and I'm not super picky.

This is 9140430892, from the corral. It's in the VIN DB, which gives the impression that this car is in California. However, it is presently sporting Illinois plates.
