I bought a jack receiver and tube and it came with a rough silvery material on the inside face. The outside is bare steel. Anyone have anyide what it might be. I'm used to panels coming with either the red shop primer or zinc rich paint but this looks like neither of those.

I would think the best place to check would be the place you got the part. Of course you can put what you think is best on it.
