so i finally have power to the starter and almost everywhere but it still wouldnt start so i pulled the spark plug and held it to the crankcase while my dad turned it over and i got no spark. where do i go from here? what should i text next?

Now that you've narrowed it to the ignition circuit - check for bad/loose connections to/from at the plugs, dizzy & coil (including something missing a good ground connection at the item or at the transaxle to body); then next check that the connectors, wires & harnesses are still good (btw Jeff Bowlsby on here rebuilds/restores the engine bay harnesses if needed); then look at regulators/relays/board, bad points, condenser or coil, also confirm that the dizzy is actually working to actuate the points (check both ignition & injector trigger pts. while you're in there looking). Process of elimination.
