I need to repaint the top. What is the correct paint for it?

There was a thread a year or two ago where someone used SEM Landau Black. I haven't seen any follow-ups to see how it held up but I remember being impressed with the pics he posted.

So, let me ask you - why does it need to be repainted? And, what finish do you prefer?
