I am converting to weber carbs on my 1.7 type 4 porsche engine and I can't seem to locate the studs to put the carb manifolds onto the heads. I'm sure thier available. can anyone help?
McMark
They 8mm x 1.25 studs that are 35mm long. McMaster has them for $1.36 each (PN: 93805A358).

thanks for the info. there seems to be 2 sizes though. the way the manifold is cast 2 of the studs are very long

does 35mm allow for the phenolic spacers to be added?
I just bought some 50mm's and from eye balling them, I thin kI'm going to have to cut about 6-7mm

I'm thinking 43mm would be perfect wtih spacers and with the crappy cast manifolds that are common to carbs (and thinker than the F.I. manifolds)

Ok,
I just mounted one side.
I'm going to correct my previous post
I'd say the perfect length is closer to 45-46mm, depending upon how deep you thread into the heads. maybe a tiny bit shorter if you don't thread in the full depth of the hole.

............The long and stupid way around the barn....as , depending on the manafolds the length of the fastner is a different length.....If you use BOLTS, then you could eliminate the trouble of finding a perfect stud..length.

This is what I did and worked perfect.
