Hello all!

I am back at the shift knob biz again. I made these years ago but due to a busy schedule decided that I needed to focus on work.

(edited post) I have received great response to members buying my product. Thanks to all who have purchased!
I am adding this in after the fact to make sure members receive paid for product right away.

If you would like a shift knob please PayPal payment to thompson.mfr@gmail.com, then text or call 503.702.9276 to notify you have made payment.

I receive so many emails, that at times, they can get lost in the shuffle and I DO NOT want you to receive your product late. When you notify me you have made payment, your shift knob will ship same or next day. I ship priority mail 2-3 days!

INFO:

914 912 911 Porsche Shift Knob with 901 transmission shift pattern.

This shift knob was C&C machined out of Aircraft Quality Billet Aluminum, was then Anodized, and shift pattern machined on top. Notice the circle surrounding the shift pattern mimicking the original 901 shift pattern knob's plastic insert.

One of the greatest attributes of this knob is that it is heavier than the factory knob, which aids in shifting and gives a cleaner feel to gear selection.

The dimensions of this new anodized aluminum knob are exact except for flat topped (see pictures for comparison to original)

2 set screws aid in perfect placement of this new and improved shift knob. (set screws are on back side of knob, hidden from driver or passenger view)

I was the first to manufacture these aftermarket knobs and have been busy with life, but am back at it. These far surpass even my old shift knobs sold years ago.

YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED WITH THE QUALITY OF THIS EXCEPTIONAL PRODUCT.

Ryan,

Quick clarification -- does it also use the factory style crush sleeve, or only the set screws to attach to the shift lever?

Cheers,

It only used the 2 set screws. No need for the crush sleeve. Take it on and off with no problems.

16.5mm inside diameter. Please comment on whether or not this will fit a Rennshifter shaft, so anyone else that has one will know. Thanks for the inquiry.
Mark Henry
I took the knob off of my stock shifter and put it on my rennshifter, so I'd say yes.

With production and machine set up time there would need to be at least 20 guys interested for it to be worth it. Sorry, I know this is probably not the answer you were hoping for, but I am being upfront, not dodging the question.

One thought might be to make a version without the shift pattern on top, for the 901/930 4-speed or 915 5-speed guys...

These look very nice. Do you make any that will fit on a Rennshift?

The Rennshift shaft is the same size or very close to stock, so this should fit fine.

Inside diameter is 16.5mm and I was informed that the shaft on a Rennshift is 16.4mm, so will fit like stock. If it doesn't for some reason I will refund the buyer.

Not to be a drag but Mark sold me the 915 pattern knob awhile back and it's nice.

I got mine (brushed version) the other day and WOW is it a nice piece of work! Thanks again for making 'em available.

Send him a text or call his cellphone -- I don't think he regularly checks PM's or emails from what I gathered. I got mine within 2-3 days of payment...

I recently did mine, it was not a shiny alloy one, but a stock-look-a-like.
I bought it of Ebay (supplier from Germany)
I had a small post about it:

I was in touch with Ryan today and can confirm that he is no longer making these 901 shift knobs. He said that he has several recent inquiries and might consider getting back into the game. Perhaps if you have interest you should ping him to put some fuel on the fire?

Jwest engineering was making some aluminum shift knob before. You can try to contact them and see if he can make one. I bought a used one from a member here. I decided to use the wooden 917 style knob instead. Let me know if you are interested in a used aluminum shift know with 914 pattern.

Thanks- I too have ordered a 917 knob with a 901 shift pattern from an eBay vendor in USA- it’s going on a Rennshift - also on it’s way.
