The process is not that difficult, I have a 75 and completed the backdating. I did not spend alot on the bumpers as my paint scheme was a simple black and white. I simply bought a front and rear bumper on e-bay stripped them down welded the holes shut, I am Floridian so I can delete the front plate. fixed any dings primed and painted black. The weight savings is good, I believe the look to be cleaner and simpler but others may argue that they like the big bumpers. I personally only like the big bumpers on a black 914... my opinion only.
Take your time and make sure everything is thoroughly thought out and pre fit before drilling.
Hey if I can do it how hard could it be....now getting the fog light bracket bolt fastened below the light was a really piece of work!!!!!!
Good Luck,
