i took my son for a drive in my 914/V8 one day and we stopped for gas, at the pump next to us was an older black gentleman filling up his mini van who asked what kind of car it was. when i said porsche 914 with chevy V8, he said "sure does sound nice"

i took my wife out for a drive one day recently and i could see a pick up truck pacing us on her side, at the next red light my wife told me he was trying to get my attention, so with the targa on, i looked up at him thru her window and he asked "what engine i had in it" i told him chevy V8, he said that that was a good reason to be driving a 914 around. i think it was a shot at all OEM powered 914's around the world, but it had a hint of appreciation too ; )

....V-8's are fast and furious...but I don't have to tell you this
