so been 3 years since I took out a ball joint taper pin, do I just beat it out?

Think I remember drilling last one through, then taking last bits out. But that was on the car.

I also cannot keep top of strut still to get the nut off likely just split the nut.

Bend tab down on locking washer before attempting to remove nut. Take large pipe wrench and hold large washer. Then take socket or impact and remove nut.

Ball joint nut should be driven out with the nut in place to keep from damaging the end. Soak in PB Blaster first though.
