They said a 24 inch gas line exploded. At least 20 homes destroyed. Flames shot 300ft in the air. About 30 miles from me but all over the TV news.

I'm about 10 minutes south. After karate class my son asked me what kid of "cloud" is that. I said it's a fire, so we drove up 280 (in the 914) to check it out and from the freeway we could see the flames leaping into the air; the flames must have been leaping 60 to 70 feet into the air. We did not stick around as the freeway was getting closed and people were evacuating the area.
We do have some friends that are about 2 minutes from the area and their house was not in danger, but I do believe they evacuated.
Last I heard 3 dead and over 40 injured. 50 or so homes destroyed.

Update this morning, 6 dead 55 homes destroyed, 100 homes damaged.

Hopefully the fire is contained?
Horrible, but the loss of life and limb could have been much worse.
