somebody just paid $800 for an old set of 40 dells that are supposed to be rebuilt.

even if they are rebuilt perfectly, isn't that more than double what they should be?

I was looking into a set a while ago. You can still get them new in europe at a few parts houses for less than $800.

Rebuild kits are getting rarer (is that a word?) in the states.

Some folks swear by them.

yea, you could buy 2 sets of weber idfs for that... and dells are still available new aren't they? got to be less than 800 too!!
