If one was building an engine that was to be used for AutoX and occasional street driving, what would be the best compression ratio? I live in Ohio where 93 octane is readily available.

Crank- 78mm stroke
Cylinders-96mm bore
Pistons- Flat top
Combustion Chamber- All are exactly 59cc (I just double checked)
Deck Height- ????????????

Side note- The heads that I was previously using turned out to be complete crap. I told my neighbor who recently purchased a 911sc. He said "I have a beautiful set of heads I was going to put on my 914 but I sold the car before I had a chance". He gave them to me for free. The are freshly rebuilt 1.8 (1.7?) heads ported with 42/36 valves. Had my local Porsche expert take a look and he said they look great- especially for the price. Lucky!

9:1 is what I would shoot for. Would require you to use high grade gas all the time though.
