Whats teh torque spec for the nuts on the studs, exhaust to cyl head?

Can't find one, searched with no results.

15 lbs too much?
TheCabinetmaker
Tom Wilson's book say's 16
Gint
My fuzzy memory recalls 15 give or take...
DuckRyder
I went 15.5,

We will see if that takes care of the slight exhaust leak I'm hearing (i think)

When I installed mine, just this afternoon, I did install new copper gaskets. I know however that copper can be resoftened if it is heated red hot and then cooled. Has anyone ever tried this to the exhaust gaskets?
DuckRyder
Used new gaskets and new nuts.

Seems to have taken care of my problem, now if 2 new pushrod seals would jump in it, I'd be swell.......................................

Did the new flanges mate up to the muffler ok?
DuckRyder
Yes sir they did. Fit perfect. boldblue.gif

The muffler is held on by a conglomweration of mis matched hardware right now, but I have some stainless hardware coming.

Thanks again!! I wish I could weld like you can, those things looked great.

I've got so many things to do to it, but a Tangerine header is definatly in the cards in a few years.
