I spent a beautiful weekend at Summit Point helping with the club race. Here are a few pix of the 914's in the club race.

Last pic is installing fender "flairs" on the car in the paddock. The car was a car rescued from the crusher and prepared for the race in 4 days. They had alot of "teething" problems but still were out there on the track.

Jim -

We used to call that "rolling the fenders" back in the day, because you typically used a baseball bat (ash/wood of course) rolled along the tires under the wheelwells to roll & push out the fenders for clearance! biggrin.gif

We old farts blink.gif need to keep the old school terminology active to edificate the yung-uns, dontcha know! laugh.gif

They probably discovered that they didn't have adequate clearance for the chosen race tires after they got it on the track with full race susp. movement.

Yea, the only thing they had handy was a 2 x 4 biggrin.gif They were trying to fit 225/55's under the fender dry.gif (I thought they ruined a perfectly fine "race car" paint job ) but the car was a free car that they saved from the crusher! The car was sponsored by a great independent shop in the NOVA area.
