Try getting the rat nest out 1st with a coat hanger opened long & hook end inside - carefully to not tear the paper hose inside the long, otherwise ithe hoes came loose at one end or both, or the hose tore/broke inside & you'll have to open up the longs to replace it/them.

Ditto. Porsche kinda messed up here IMO. It's one part on the car that's almost impossible to replace. Good luck with the repair.

In all these years I have never heard of one falling off

get a one inch clear hose and duct tape it to the end of the shop vac attachement so it increases the speed of the air.
Gently slide it in and out to clear the passage.

Also, open up the area near the speaker and use the shop vac to blow out anything...

Either way, you will get it loose.
Dont use a coat hanger...it may rip the tube...

BTW, remember that the tube also acts as a sound muffler. There's paper or something in the tube. It's not supposed to be clear & hollow. Be careful not to suck out the sound absorbing guts of the tube. The nest is probably close to the end of it.

if thats it, how did they get in, there are no holes or tears anywhere I can see...

could they get in through the flapper box?
bandjoey
The city water department slides a plastic pipe inside the old cement one. Why not find a new plastic hose slightly smaller than the paper one, and shove it through to the speaker hose? A little experimenting and you probably will get heat through even though the paper is ripped up inside the long??? Just a thought.

Naturally, after the rat comes out first! smash.gif

Yes. They need a space about the size of a penny (or less).

The tube is paper covered aluminum & it's filled with a sound absorbing material of some kind.
