Anybody have an approximate idea of how much it cost to bore cylinders from 1.8 or 2.0 cylinders to 96mm?

Does anybody have any experience with this?

Well, you buy a new set and bolt them on.

$2079. My wife would defiantly murder me. I have a set of Chinese jugs and I just can't put them on. They look like crap. I am trying to stay cheap- my family is multiplying.

No, that's the top shelf stuff. Pelican was the first place that came to mind to answer your question.

Ensure the shop that carries this out for you is using a torque plate while honing. The cylinders must be honed under load to be finisned without taper and to stay round.

We used to bore them for others, but shipping them to and dfrom without fins being busted was damn near impossible. The cost should be around 200.00 if done right.

Only bore OEM cylinders with a part number at their bases, others are generally porous the deeper into the casting that you bore them.

I was contemplating the same question! I have a 1.8 that I would like to build a 1911 with. I found 96MM cylinders at www.europeanmotorworks.com for $50.00 each, around the same price as boring originals. Does anyone have any experience with the quality of these?

I was wondering the same about the european motorwork jugs. I have purchased things from them in the past ad had very good experiences.
