Fit & Function: Completely cleaned the connector, unit, ohm'd out (electronic verification part by part) and checked for any defective copper runs (the little copper lines the current runs through inside the controller to signal & produce proper outputs).
What you get: Bosch 1.8 FICU that was spotless internally and had no defective components. Prior to mating the cable to this box, clean the male pins on the FICU with contact cleaner.
Another Ole School trick is to take a thin flat eraser and slide it down all sides of the dual-row pin setup. This removes oxidation prior to use. NEVER use jewelers or flat files to clean these surfaces as it would be easier to take a 5-pound sledge & bash the connector to bits, as both methods will lead you to a similar end.
