Those were some big Phase 9s on the green Zeppelin!

Here's a 3.6L street car with one of my mufflers going to the dyno.

I personally know just about everyone of the cars in the first video....and just about everyone of them is running phase 9s with headers.

That was at infineon a month ago we were on our way up to our ranch in napa and stopped by the track to test my new camera..

In the video I'm running megaphones on a 3.0 with webers and Euorpean Racing headers. IMHO a little too loud for street use. For the street I'm using two Supertrapps, the 18" ones with 18 discs in each. They are a little louder than I would like so I'll remove 6 discs in each..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wrBF96dT6uk

I don't have any video of idle from the rear but here's an autox run with the supertrapps....It's not too bad at idle it's when you get on it that it's loud.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FoCxD9TSxmA

Chris,
IC the MA sticker...where is this little gem?
I would like to talk with the owner about how he likes the 3.6 in there.
Is there enough rubber on the rear??

I think the car resides in Boston.
AFAIK he doesn't spend any time on the forums.

I have several in-car videos up on Vimeo with either an M&K "R" type 2in/2out or open megaphones.

http://www.vimeo.com/cjcam/videos

Probably the best footage I have is from Fontana a few weeks ago but I haven't edited or posted any yet. I ran the first couple sessions with the muffler and the rest of the weekend with megaphones, so it is a good comparison. Although, from inside the car most of the sound is from the carbs not the exhaust.

Noise?...we gots that.

Yep, saving shekels now to get my flares & paint done. The last year was a bit of a rollercoaster financially.

lol-2.gif Can I nominate that for understatement of the year?

I drive my car on the street once in a while, with race numbers and all, but always with a muffler of some sort. I figure if I went out with megaphones, I'd probably be arrested within minutes. It sounds sweet but is deafening. Literally, I bet some of the hearing loss in my left ear is due to this car.

WHAAT?

I thought I heard that TC runs megas on the street.....but I'm getting old and my hearing is going...... shades.gif

It was not for nothing that Porsche came up with the "sport" muffler.

Phase 9s, megaphones, & whatnot are for those needing top end power and willing to give up low/mid range: racers.....oh, & wannabes.

I'm personally not fond of the raspy sound the "sport" produce, but it is distinctive.

On a street 911 I used to have, I tried Bursch, then a 2in/2out sport, and then went back to stock. I preferred the stock banana on my prior street 914 too.

Thanks for the vid, although too much information! chair.gif

Way to loud IMO for the street. Driving to fast in a residential neighborhood. The fact that he may be a police officer makes it all the worst. You don't drive like that on residential streets. Take it up on the freeway for that crap. Please.
ONTHEGRIND
Thanks for the video car sounds great. No all the sudden you have a few extra wives in your ear lol...
