Just in time for Hershey, the bell shaped end part of one heater flapper boxes is suddenly MIA. Tomorrow is supposed to be nice..i.e. no top on the 914.
1)Would it be stupid to try to make the trip to Hershey(about 1 1/2 hours) without it?
2)Any temporary solutions in case I can't get another box today? Thanks.

Remove it. You'll be fine. When you locate a replacement at Hershey (wish I could attend) put it on when you get home after the car cools down.
Saturate the flat blade screws today/tonight with some Kroil or something so they will come out easy before the event.
