Sunday December 5th is the final PCA AX at El Toro, who's going ? El Toro is located in Irvine, CA just off the I5 at Sand Canyon Road.
yeahmag
I'll be there! Car has a Evan's old exhaust (heavily modified) that features a Phase9 muffler and a new (used) Momo Corse Rookie drivers seat. I've also treated the old v710's to a full 3 days of Formula V, but don't tell anybody...

yeahmag
...it's actually the exhaust you can see in that picture of his car!

Great day at El Toro today, three 914's ran; Joe Sharp's race car, Aaron Mckinny aka Yeahmag, and David Witter's white car, # 243, from Westchester

THOMAS and Dan ( proto31) are the NARP Team drivers....

Saw former 914 AX'r Evan Fulton....

Dan drove his beautiful green 6 to El Toro. You may have seen this 914 at Lake Tahoe last WCR...

El Toro is located in Irvine, CA. The site is in the process of being converted from a military air station to a Great Park. Besides hosting the monthly AX, there is a Farmers Market, and a giant Orange ballon that takes guest up 500 feet to view the surrounding area.

Here's a series of shots I too from West, South, East, and North

Saw former 914 AX'r Evan Fulton....

what is Evan driving / racing?
yeahmag
Evan purchased his dad's '75 911S. It's got a 3.0L SC motor in it that's been warmed over and some suspension work.

Here's my best timed run of the day:

It's just a GoPro Hero Wide. I have the audio set to "High". I should probably put it back down to low...

Good to see you Jim. Aaron was really booking it out there and that white 914 of David's scoots. Really made me long for my old white car but then I remembered that at the rate I was going through them I would have been on Motor #5 by now rolleyes.gif .

It is a fun car. Needs some tweaking to get to where I want it to be but the fun factor per $ is hard to beat and it is an order of magnitude cheaper than my RSR was to run.

Is that with a stock 2.0L? Makes my 1.7L seem like a dog. I guess the extra 15ish hp makes a big difference. Maybe a 5k engine is in order...

No, its a 2056cc motor loosely based of an early Raby design. It's probably quite similar to the $5K motor you referenced, but maybe with a touch more horsepower. I really need more RPM in my next motor...
brilliantrot
Yes Aaron, yes you do. Your current motor is a tease. So since Hime wants pictures.
Old, cool, very expensive car.

New, cheap car I can afford to actually drive hard with abandon. Here I am playing in the rain a couple weeks ago http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MiUf9UiE0xo Click to view attachment

It should be mentioned that some of the run groups had to run in the rain. Most of the fast guys got to run in the dry but not all.
