I am experiencing a small hesitation (carbs chocking like) when shifting between 1st and 2nd mostly as the car warms up I get it sometimes between 2 and 3.

Can that be the dwell, dirty gas clogged jet or foul plugs? Car accelerates fine after changing and idles fine at all rpms.

Its cold out now, and it takes the carbs longer to warm up.

Once you have been driving for a while, does the hesitation go away? My carbs will run like crap before they get some warmth in them, but then run great.

I have not driven long enough to notice it gone, but i notice that it moves to upper gear as it warms up

I have something similar going on and when I clean out my jets, it runs much better. Might try starting there as its easy to do.
