I had a weird thing happen. Transmission was grinding going into second, unless i babied it. When i stopped in a parking lot, the vehicle was now stuck in reverse. When I press the clutch it engages but it will not shift out of gear.

I'm leaving the car parked till i get some time next week to inspect the linkage but I'd appreciate getting some help if anyone is available?

I've replaced transmission before but not in a mid engine vehicle so any advice or help with diagnostics would be appreciated.

By the way, I live in Downey CA if anyone lives in the area and is willing to lend a hand?

Check your linkage. I would bet one or more of your bushings are shot, or you lost a cone screw. Does the lever bind?
