I'm old enough to remember when these were first shown - really looked like the future! Unfortunately, the Wankel engines were too thirsty, and a neat idea was shelved.

I also remember running all the data for my thesis on computer punch cards as shown in the video. It was also a glimpse into the future as far as we were concerned!

The oil crisis hit before they had developed the engines to a point where they were more economical and the diesel's took over that niche market ...
