Hello All,

I am new to the site and must admit I know absoltuly nothing about the 914. When I was in HS, I owned a 67 Camaro and it was one of the badest cars in HS. I had a HS friend who drove a 914 and I fell in love with the car righ away. Several years later, I saw one at a car show that had a 350. Since then I've always wanted to do that. I have restored many cars in my time and recently finished a 2nd generation Camaro. I have been looking for a new project and stumbled on a CL ad for a 914 with a brand new 350. It has never been started. It has 10-1 pistons, an above average cam, 202 ported and polished vales/heads. It has shorty headers and exhust system. The car was painted less than 6 months ago and the interior was done at the same time. It has brand new tires as well. It has NO RUST. Thank goodness, afer the last car I built I do not want to see any rust again.

Anyway, I have already touched base with a few of the members who were very helpful in directing me where to buy parts and advising me what to expect. Presently, I am left to install the dreaded coolign system. The car came with a brand new aluminum radiator and electrical fan set up. I need to purchase an electric water pump, cut the bumper and install a billet grill, etc. I need to install a clutch cable as well and install the aleternator belt.

If some one can instruct me on how to post pics I will post some.

This has been a common conversion. Rod Simpson Hybrids were one of the early converters, and Renagade Hybrids in Las Vegas are another company that has been doing these.

Parts and advice should be readily available. Using the search function on this site will probably answer most of your questions.

Enjoy your project in good health!

HERE ARE A FEW PICS:
Yesterda the flat bed came and picke her up to drop her off at the shop so the final work can be done to hook up hte cooling system. I also have new carb, alternator, wire loom, valve covers, low profile air cleaner, and a bunch of other new parts. Does the carpet kit really come in 10 pieces. I have never seen anything like that. Do you glue it down? In every car I have done, I have never used glue.

I will have the mechanic take pics as he goes so I can post.

Happy New Year to all

Looks great!!!!

Yes the carpet is just glued down. 3m carpet glue works, Use sparingly (Apply to both sides per directions).

Wish I was closer, I'd give you a hand and we could get in running in a weekend tops.

Keep us updated!
