I have a 912E and have owned 3 and take care of another for a friend. 912E and 914 and for that mater any type 4 not in a bus have the same dip stick. If your car is silver and from Georgia you have a Mainely thermostate in there. Al

as a side note.... the 912s can take a 12" meat thermometer perfectly. mark the thermo with a dremel at add and full lines. add heat resistant washer at proper depth and though not stock.... you can always read the temp. of your oil at a glance. alternately, keep one around and just stick it in when you need to. instantly know what is happening from a heat perspective. i m a 2 wheel guy and this is done routinely.
