To keep our engines in best condition when weather situations prevent our use of the car, what are some tips while the cars are layed up in the cold winter?
Carbed engines:::
During off season what is the census of opinon here with regard to how often the engine be started?
-Are engine block heaters recommened?
-Should engines be heated before started?
-Gasoline treatment?
-Carb gumout?
-Cylinder coating?
- Brake calipers?

Park can on jack stands to get tires off the cold contrete.
Fill tank, add fuel stabilizer.
CARBS
Pull fuse for fuel pump after car has started.
Run it till it stalls and sucks all the fuel out of the carbs.
Shut it off.
Put a cover over any tailpipe you have some the mice dont climb in.
Put a car cover on it and forget about it till spring.

DO NOT start the car unless you plan to go for a good 20 minute ride to heat it up enough to burn all the moisture out.

Upon wake up, replace fuse and pump like hell till it starts.
Warm it up, take it for a 20 minute ride to get the oil nice and warm.
Change oil and filter after that first run...gets all the remaining moisture out of the oil.
Drive it like you stole it.
