Oil tank is out, and basically all the rubber pieces for the mounting studs and
all the foam pieces that are supposed to be seals around filler, vent, and bottom
line are all junk.

I'm not keen on trying to get all the different factory pieces and was wondering if there are any other ways to make them. For example I just got a couple generic
bushings that will probably work for the mounting studs.

how thick do they need to be?
There are some foam insulation pieces in the plumbing isle at HD.

There is a truck bed mat measuring about 1/4 inch.
There is also a horse stall mat measuring about 1/2 inch...
Both of those are rubber.

Foam pool toys also come to mind...various thickness and bright colors.

Always check mcmaster Carr for that kind of stuff. We buy oil resistant closed cell foam from them about once a year.

That's what I was thinking on the oil filter/console hole was a foam (not wax) toilet ring.

The wax might work, and you could form it for the filler hole, but it might melt with the engine bay heat. Cheap ass SOB at it finest

try the dealer, they had em when I did mine.They were like a closed cell foam. pretty cheap if I remember correctly

sleeping mat from EMS would also work..

If you go to Michaels craft shop, they have alot of it.
Or Joannes fabrics also has alot of foam.

I used the foam weatherstripping you find at hardware stores. Self adhesive and cheap.

Good ideas. I was expecting to need to cut circles, but wrapping the self-
adhesive weatherstrip works?
