Returning a freshly painted 914 from the local body shop I heard the familiar roar of loose lug bolts. Sure enough, they failed to torque the wheels. A trip back to the shop for a lug wrench and we were able to get the car home.

3 easy tips for all but the folks who never forget.

In our shop, we have 2 magnetic stickers.
1 says "TORQUE LUGS" put it on the car anytime a wheel lug is loosened.
2 says "NO OIL" when you have the drain plug wrench in your hand and going under.

The last tip is if you are finished draining oil. Do not put the drain plug in unless you have the wrench in your hand to tighten it.
