- Looking at the angle of the axle shaft, it almost looks like the CV is broken.

- It also looks like they cut the trunk floor out in the middle to fit the transmission.

- The heat exchangers are rotting away.

- They're running KYB shocks.

The V8 is awesome. Very well built. He was going to let me take it for a spin but I chickened out. I didn't want to break it. I think he bought it from Renegade, was Orange and now is Grey. Very nice gut too. I had a heel of a time turning my trailer around at his house.

I almost bought the Automatic before Computers4kids. I missed it only by a couple of hours. headbang.gif Now I provided the V8 that may be mated to the auto... piratenanner.gif 6 degrees of separation?... idea.gif
championgt1
Dan, is the auto yours now?
DanT
No, it happened to be up on the rack at SPORTECH when I dropped by the shop today.
I recognized it immediately as a car I had seen on the board...
Turns out it was purchased and is now owned by someone I know here in San Jose area.
As I said he has at least 3 or 4 running 914s.
He had either hip or knee surgery about 2 years ago and decided he still wanted a 914 as a daily driver that he didn't have to shift all the time... biggrin.gif
Turns out that after his surgery, my son (Doctor of Physical Therapy) worked with him for some time to get him back on his feet...small world smile.gif

Real nice guy, Larry is his name. He was going to backdate the bumpers and have a V8 mated to the Audi transmission. He offered to trade me for one of his track cars....but I just didn't want another 914 right now. Looks like he's made some progress.
DanT
the car now has smooth chrome front and rear bumpers biggrin.gif
