Dave, on my 73 2L it's a steel bracket painted satin black (like the engine tins), & IIRC same for 74.

Try Jonathan at GPR up in Santa Maria, as he has a bunch of used parts on hand.

You can find the part nos. & diagram of it (2 pcs.) on the Porsche PET 914 Parts Catalog which is a free downlowd pdf file from the Porsche website's Classics section under tech. publications IIRC.

member 914xprs has it.. his name is terry, he is a friend and good parts ource. I know he has it because I helped him with all his parts this past weekend at the Sonoma Fair Grounds, he is in Riverside CA. (So. Cal.).. It is a sweet one too, both pieces with the factory nuts that hold them together,... not a beater

thanks guys but this sucker is definetly plastic, i know because i destroyed mine by spinning the thread insert thats was all rusted up.
