I've read that someone is recording VINs here which is great. I conducted a site search but didn't have any luck (I'm pretty sure I spelled VIN correctly!). I believe I supplied my VIN. If not, it is 4762901009 (early 74 Bahia Red 2.0 with appearance package). Where are those VIN'smaintained? Can they be viewed by other members?
The reason I ask, I'm looking for father's 76 914 he owned. I have the VIN, and periodically conduct a Google search for the number, but to no avail. It would be interesting to know it is now a 3rd generation washing machine or a survivor.

Is there interest in posting VINs other members are in search of? If so could the VIN page have it's own posting location?

It's in the "914Info" section under "Members VIN Numbers" ...

Other members can view (and search) the VIN database if they are logged in.

Btw. VIN 4762901009 is not yet in the database. You can add as many VINs as you wish ...

There's a sticky thread in the garage with some more info:

Go to the very very way up high top of this page and click on 914 Info. Wallah!

Also U can add to members and car pictures at the first few locked threads just above the Garage threads.

Thanks all-very cool! I'll post my father's VIN this weekend as questionable.

476 designates a 1976 model, which in my opinion is the most valuable of all of the four cylinders except for the limited edition. Also it is the least produced year with only about 4100 of them made and were never made in 1976

"4762901009 (early 74 Bahia Red 2.0 with appearance package)"

Did you mean a 76 Bahia Red or a 4742901009 VIN for yours?
> 476... denotes a 76 MY

Just answered my own question - PBC914 meant 474.....

welcome.png You don't need to record it as questionable. Andy just meant that your particular VIN is not in the 914world registry, yet.
