They came to me with:

122 mains
180 airs
.2 emulsions
60 idles
and 35 pumps

It runs and idles, but it's stumbly in part throttle operation.

I realize the mains are too small. I found a lot of info on baseline arrangements for 40s, but very little on 36s.

I'm thinking about going up to 140 mains and 70 idles.

If you're running 36s, your input is requested.

Thank you. It's pretty good that you remember all the numbers from "a long time ago".

Mains are mostly dictated by the formula of 4x to 4.2x (for larger carbs) the venturi size. If you have a 30mm venturi you are pretty much spot on. I'd check for proper timing, carb synchronization, and proper settings of the idle volume screw.

What cam, exhaust, and distributor are you running? Timing (idle/total advance/max)? Valves spot on?

I was running 122's and 65's with 28mm vents. It stumbled off the line and lacked top end. Part of the problem turned out to be the 050 distributor. Changed to a properly set up Mallory and the stumble went away.
