Going to look at a 74 914 2.0 tomorrow and wanted to check on matching #'s. I know where the chassis/vin are I think, but don't know where to find the ENG #'s or the Tranny #'s. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks. Dave

Transmission serial number will be stamped directly on the bottom/center of the transmission.

Engine # is stamped into the case right in front of where you pour in oil.

Must move hose out of way to see case, if it still has fuel injection. In the recessed well, may need to clean debris/grease build-up to see number.

Tranny number is on bottom center rib facing the ground.
