I was wondering, wich valvcovers for the type 4 engine are the best.

I would like to go with aftermarket.
But the Empi or SCAT?

Unless you like oil leaks, stick to OEM units. I only use stock units on my engines.

Jake's right. Prevent leaks, stick with stock.

Stock. Besides, who the Hell is ever going to see them unless they're on a "shiney page".

But I have higher rocker arms because of change from mechanical to hyd. lifters

Use the ones that fit you purpose best! It is your engine !!! Just make the effort to process mating interfaces to mitigate oil leaks !!

Then something is WRONG! Did you use the aluminum pushrods instead of the steel hydro rods?

Use the Empi ones. In my experience, they hold more loose nuts and bolts when they end up just sitting on your workbench down the road.....

(my car came with them in 1993 - nothing but leaks.)

I have hydro lifters, too ( ) but the stock covers fit just fine.
