Looking to install some rally lights like the ones pictured. What is the usual size of these and how do they mount? Close up mounting pics would be appreciated.

As I recall the brackets were attached to the bumper on 914.043.0691.
I would mount the Oscars to the front bulkhead of the car.

Here is how I did them on my car:
(using Pilot driving lights from Camp 914)
Drilled a hole in the bumper with a nut welded to the back side. I also reversed the mount that Camp sells with the lights and put them on that way. Using this method you do need to fab up a spacer to compensate for the natural curve of the bumper or else your lights look a little wall eyed. I used some aluminum epoxied to the light base. Easy!





Finished:

Do a search on the lights from user Aaron Cox. He had some mounts made (or maybe bought from Rennenmetal?)

WOW that really cool! I like the way my turn signal lights look but they really don't work as well as I would like. This looks like a great way to throw down some serious light.

Adding lights very much improved night driving. But you need to remember to run a relay in line, and you have to be careful of aim. They are low and can reflect a lot of light back up in the eyes of oncoming traffic if improperly aimed.

Another thing you need to remember is that the benefits of powerful driving lights are severely diminished by mounting them low. Along with this, the side effect of blinding oncoming drivers is increased. True rally cars have the lights mounted as high as is feasible. While these aren't "fog lights" (which should be mounted as low as possible), they share the side effect of actually decreasing your ability to see at a distance because the foreground is flooded with bright light. Don't take my word for it, do a little research on your own.

I was actually thinking of running one fog and one driving light. Hella makes the free form 500


They also make a 90mm hi lo hid light that may fit in the turn signal bucket a bit better.

May just be me, but 1 fog and one driving light would look goofy when they were turned on.

The beam of driving lights is very tight, tighter then the headlights (h4 included). When I am driving using mine, even though I can operate the driving lights separate from the head lights I never do it. The DL beams are too focused and sharp and give me no lateral light. They are a great mix with the headlights though, and give me an extra second of warning VS all the deer that live in the hills around me.

Might be right and with the headlights I have I already have a pretty narrow light pattern. The 500FF fog has a light range of 70 meters or so the brochure says. The website says 30 meters. That might just give me all the lighting I need.

A piece of 1-1/2" angle iron with a long shallow "V" cut in it to clear the lip at the back of the bottom edge of the bumper. 6 or 8 #8 bolts with nuts and lockwashers to secure it to the bumper. Not factory, but inexpensive and sturdy.
