So I was in Salt Lake City on business and took the opportunity to meet Eric Shea of PMB Performance to talk 914's, brakes and of course, see the GT replica he is building. All I can say is Eric is a great guy; he met me at my hotel, took me to lunch and spent a couple of hours with me.

I spent time drooling over his car and then ordered the balance of the brake parts I need for my car. I can't wait to receive the box from PMB once all of the my stuff is plated and there. If you think his car looks good in the pictures he has posted you should see it in person.

Then we went to a friend's shop where I met Troy of Lundquist Restorations and I got to see several of the cars he is restoring. I will definitely keep Troy in mind when it comes time to strip my car and paint it. Just beautiful work.

Anyway, if you have the opportunity, stop and meet Eric and his doggie Rio. Class act and all around great guy.

Bull shit!

Every time I have needed something he always gets it too me faster than I expected. WTF is up with that!? He always treats me well and bends over backwards to help me out. He puts up with my BS all the time. He is obviously not sane, and a crappy businessman. The customer comes first? Who does he think he is poke.gif

There, I added some negative praise biggrin.gif

(Michael... I have reputation to uphold around here. I'm trying to beat out Slits for the grouchy old man award... Don't ruin it bud!)

Hey! Thanks for the plug-a-roo and thanks for coming to visit. This man is certifiably 914 crazy (I should say 914-6 crazy). He's on his third and the latest promises to be the stuff your nightmares are made of (because once you see his car you want one just like it and then the impending divorce reigns supreme looming in your mind and you begin to wonder how you can tap the kids college fund etc... you get the picture).

Bottom line, Michael's a great guy and a great hang. It will be exciting to see his car as it progresses and it will progress.

The only problem I had when I received my box from Eric is the shame of having to actually put the calipers on my car. They need to be on a wall or something.

Is that the PMS branch of PMB Performance? smile.gif

What does PMB stand for anyway?

Pack My Bags. The wife said if you don't start making money at this stupid grease monkey thing you'd better "Pack Your Bags"! mad.gif

Actually, it was Porsche, Mercedes and BMW. The idea was to open a more global site using the WorldPak modules but my marketing thoughts crept in and I said to myself... "Self? that's really *&^ing stupid. The Internet is shrinking the world and it's better to concentrate in smaller dedicated markets. Go with what you know Ho."

So PMB stuck (for now). I've branched out into Alfa, Ferrari and doing a LOT of 911 brakes now, along with the staple 914 stuff but... a majority of my business is brakes, brakes and more brakes. Michael will attest to the three shelves full of workorders and more lined up on the floor the entire length of the bench. I need to get back to work. wacko.gif

I do own another site which I plan to launch in 2011 but... more on that when the time comes. wink.gif

Alfa, eh? Eric I might have to introduce you to a very close friend of mine that live (or lived) in Farmington, NM, now in Austin. He's been to the end of a Moab trip to rescue LizO's teener with a trailer after a certain failure some years ago - it was my first RRC so I think it was 2007 when I brought my black 968.

Anyway, this guy, Casey, has a long term project to resurrect a Giulietta Spider (don't remember the year, possibly '63) with a 1750cc motor. He'd been doing well until a stroke sidelined the poor guy for a while, but he's getting much better now. Looking forward to that car being done! Talk about a rare find (no rust, in a west Texas field) and also he's painted the body British racing green. laugh.gif Good stuff!

You are on V-A-C-A-T-I-O-N. Your wife is out front in the middle of the road and some other guy is taking pictures of her and posting them on Facebook because "you" are inside wanking away on 914World.com

Just a follow-up, Eric has 3 shelves full of brake orders and a long line of them on the floor. Not to mention one nice large assortment of fasteners and brake parts in boxes under his bench. smile.gif

I always make it a point to go see Eric when I'm in SLC. He's a whole lot more fun to hang out with than the out in laws.
